GVL

The Gesellschaft zur Verwertung von Leistungsschutzrechten mbH (GVL) in Berlin, represents the rights and interests of producers and performing artists in Germany since 1959.

The artists the company represents, live from the royalties and money earned from performances on stage, radio, TV and streaming services.

In 2017 there was a pitch against companies including SAP and MS Dynamics. The University of Potsdam, renowned for its ERP expertise, was the independent advisor. The rest, as they say, is history.

ICORP Complex Billing® now ensures that artists, producers and production companies receive their due. Creating and sending payment letters and feeding the financial system with the correct pay-out data. All in accordance with current contracts, laws and rules and regulations. ICORP also covers the other, more traditional side of the business: calculating and sending the charges to the broadcasters. This is derived from tax-based rules and plenty of calculations.

The ICORP software has drastically improved the GVL valuation process for performing artists in Germany, especially in regard to flexibility. Including easy incorporation of new rules, e.g. prepayments due to COVID-19. As well as calculations that couldn’t be made before, like legacy payments to heirs.
